Flowers
Do you like flowers?
Definitely yes. I think everyone likes flowers. They are picturesque and fragrant. When you hold a bunch of flowers in your hands, you just feel refreshed and relaxed.
When was the last time you bought flowers for somebody?
On mother’s day, I bought a bunch of carnation for my mom. I still remember how brightly my mother smiled.
What kind of flowers do you know?
I just know some common flowers like carnation and rose. My favorite flower is lily because it is quite fragrant.
Are there any flowers that have special meanings in China?
Yes of course. For example, lotus represents purity and loyalty. That’s why many famous poems use lotus to describe the noble spirit of people.
Have you planted any flowers?
Frankly speaking, I don’t have a green thumb. But I buy some flowers and place them in my dinning table so that my house has a great ambience.
答案是no!
和“Sorry, I don't understand.” 我们可以这样说“I am not exactly sure what you you mean...?”
Could you please rephrase the question again? I am not exactly sure what you mean.”

It is a detailed recall of my memory. As for a time that I arrived at a place early, I would like to say the experience that I took part in the IELTS speaking test at first time. It was in May of 2023. My speaking test venue was Beijing Language and Culture University at that time. I got up one and an half hour earlier than usual for the speaking test. When I got there, I had to wait for one hour before I could enter the test classroom. So I opened my book to review the speaking topics. Suddenly a girl who was also sitting in the waiting room dropped her personal water bottle. All water splashed and flowed out but it seemed that she didn’t take any facial tissues or napkins to clean it up. She looked embarrassed. Then I gave her mine. She was very grateful. After the test, she asked me to go with her. And now we have become friends.
I went to the test venue early because I didn’t have enough preparation for my speaking test. You know, at that moment, getting up earlier and arrive there earlier could be a kind of psychological compensation and comfort since you have no other choice or efforts to do for the test. Besides, I wasn’t familiar with the route to get there although I was sure it was not so complicated to find the university. I didn’t have a good score of my IELTS speaking test at that time, but unexpectedly, I got a friend. The story told me that “better late than never; better earlier than later”.
